I didn't want to make the same mistake, so I mapped out the drive making sure to use only paved roads. I went to the web-site to find out what time the park opened. We packed a lunch and loaded the car, 40 minutes later we slowly approached. I said, "There it is. Oh no, it looks closed." Apparently, the wildlife park was not open today. We drove past the park and into the next town. I went into the post office and asked a woman if there was anything in the area that would interest a three year old, to which she replied, "No, sorry it's really dead around here. Dead." Then she just smiled at me, so I go back in the car and we turned around.
By now, Donny figured out something was amiss. I made the mistake of telling him we were going to see a zebra, he wanted to know when we would be there. We headed back and turned into the main gate which was partially open, not a soul around. We drove in, stopped the car and told him to look at the animals, waited a minute and then left. We would have gone further, but the road was too muddy. (Probably why the park was closed) Donny proceeded to talk the entire drive home. So basically, the family drove about two hours to have lunch in the car and listen to Donny ask 1000 questions the entire time. Wonder what we're doing next weekend?
