What Is It?

The kids have had a high fever for days.  I took them to the doctor yesterday figuring they probably had ear infections.  On the drive over, I looked in the rear view mirror to see Donny covered in blood.  His nose was bleeding and he decided to use his pants to wipe the blood.  I threw him a towel and he used it for about a minute before he threw it against the window. He grabbed a plastic bag and proceeded to wipe blood all over the bag which just slid off the bag onto him.  I finally pulled over to assist him and convince him to hold the towel that reclaimed gently against his nose.  By the time we reached the doctor he was a bloody mess.  The doctor took one look at him and couldn't figure out what happened.  Because he was sitting in his car seat there was no blood from his shoulders to his knees. What a mess, my car looks like a crime scene.

The doctor examined both of them and nothing. Ears and throat were clear and he couldn't really hear anything in their lungs.  The doctor sent us to the hospital for chest xrays to check for pneumonia.  Abigail cannot see Donny when we are in the car because he sits behind her.  We were sitting in the radiology waiting area when she finally looked at him.  The look on her face was priceless, I had to remind her of the nose bleed.  The xray came back clear so we went back to the office to pick up a script for blood work.  Luckily for me the Ibuprofen had worn off both of them and they were delirious.  We walked into the lab and I told the lady behind the desk that the munchkins had no idea what we were doing.  She took us to room to draw the blood.  As soon as we walked in Donny started referring to himself as Donny Boy.  "Donny Boy doesn't like it here.  Donny Boy thinks we should leave."   Both kids did very well and we headed home.

Most of the blood work results came back negative.  We are still waiting for one test.  As of this morning, Abigail was at 104 and Donny at 101.  I'm not sure what to do next.
