Three States

What a day!  The kids and I had so much fun.  We started the day in Goshen, CT at the Action Wildlife Park.  I allowed the kids to ride in the front seat as we drove through the park.

I spotted this baby hiding under the table as we drove by.  Abigail was so excited she wanted to bring it home with us.

Our time in the barn was hysterical!  The kids joined hands as soon as we walked in the barn as if a giant bear was waiting for them at the other end.  I bought two cups of feed and ended up feeding the animals alone.  The kids were so afraid of the baby animals sticking their heads out of the pens.  The funniest thing to watched was the way they walked down the aisle.  They would keep their eyes on the animals on the right and would drift to the left.  When they drifted too far the animals would start to push on their backs and the kids would freak out and start to drift the other way.  They were like a ball in a pinball machine.

Donny left Abigail when the goats scared him. I took this photo just in time before she ran back to Donny.

Donny's I'm so cool look.

We had to stop and take Donny's photo in front of this tank at the Couch-Pipa V.F.W. in Canaan, CT.

Our journey to us so close to Massachusetts that I decided to keep going just to say were we in three states today.

On the way home we passed a mini-golf course and I thought, what the hell let's stop.  Donny plays as if he is playing pool.  He was doing so well I didn't try to correct him.

A perfect way to end the day!!!

I'm Okay

Abigail wanted to give Big Daddy a big thumbs up to let him know she was okay.  She took a nasty face first fall into the woodwork.  She hit the wood so hard she had a paint chip on her tooth.

Abigail's Show

Abigail absolutely had to dance before bed tonight. She was not happy when Whisper interrupted her show.  You may recognize the bow, he brother taught her that move.

Graduation

Donny's graduation from preschool was last night.  I asked him what he wanted to wear and he replied, "Do you know where my handsome vest is?  And I'm going to need a tie."  I knew right then that I wasn't going to bother and that I should just let him wear what he wanted, so Rachel if you're out there, thank you.

Lunch With Grandma

Abigail was having lunch today when I heard her say, "Hi Grandma." When I looked at Abigail she said, "She's my friend. She want to know where her plate is." I was quite shocked by that because that is absolutely something she would say. Abigail continued to eat and talk to Grandma. Soon it was time to leave and pick up Donny. I put Abigail in the car and then I got in and shut the door. Abigail yelled at me because I forgot Grandma. I opened the door and let Grandma in then started on my way. The conversation between the two of them continued for awhile. Feeling left out, I asked Abigail to ask Grandma if she had anything interesting to say to me. Abigail was quite for a moment then said, "Yes, she said to tell you that she is dead."
If I remember correctly, this is about the same age that Donny would see a man walking around the house. He also saw soldiers with triangle hats and long sticks out his window. The worst was the time we brought the lady home from Florida and she was mad. She ended up walking through the sliding glass window and as far as I know she never returned. I just hope Grandma is the only person in the house.

What?

Abigail and I were in Stop-n-Shop today and as usual Abigail was talking to anyone who would listen. Abigail said something to a woman as she passed us. The woman looked at me and said, "What did she say?" Abigail spoke up and said, "I said, you look tired." The woman hung her head and said, "I am." Poor woman. I didn't think she looked that bad.

Give A Penny, Take A Penny

I stopped at a Connecticut Dunkin Donuts this morning. I ordered a small cup of coffee and two Munchkins®, the total came to $2.02. I only had a five dollar bill. I looked down and saw the Give a Penny, Take a Penny cup. "I'm totally going to take two pennies." Yes, I said totally. I handed the man behind the counter my five and two pennies. When I looked up, the mood of the employees had drastically changed. I realized that it wasn't a Give a Penny, Take a Penny cup all, it was their tip cup. Sensing the tension in the room, the man behind me reached into his pocket, pulled out a handful of change and asked in a panic voice how many pennies. He threw them into the cup as I was apologizing for my mistake. Nothing helped, these people were pissed. I received my change, threw a dollar in the tip cup, thanked the man behind me and Abigail and I were out of there.

Last Scratch

Donny was taunting the cat, so I put her in the basement and then put Donny in the naughty spot in front of the basement door. I walked down the hall to check on Abigail. Moments later Donny came running to me with tears in his eyes. "Whisper scratched me." I told him I didn't think it was very nice to lie then he showed me the scratch. Apparently after Donny sat down, Whisper put her paw under the door and swatted him. I told him not to mess with her.

Abigail Day

On the way to school, Donny declared today Abigail Day. She was so excited. He told her she didn't have to take a nap, she could have cake for lunch and many other wonderful lies. She said, "Donny you're the best!" To which he replied, "I know."

Bag Please

Less than an hour ago.....

I was doing my end of day clean up while Donny was playing with his Lego's and Abigail was looking at a book. Donny started following me around asking me for a bag. I assumed he wanted a Zip-Lock for his Lego's. I reminded him there was one under the seat where he was playing. I went back to clutter detail when he took the bag and walked down the hall. Something didn't sit right with me so I followed him. I turned the corner to find him with his pants down, peeing into the bag. I scared him when I yelled, "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" He jumped and that caused him to move the target and pee all over his pants and the rug. Then he got mad at me because I made him miss. I asked him what he was thinking and he said he had to pee. I stood there with my mouth hanging open and then I pointed and said, "WHAT IS WRONG WITH USING THE TOILET NEXT TO YOU?!"

Last Game

Donny played his last game yesterday. We had such a nice time.

Character Day

Today is character day at school. The children were to dress as their favorite character. How exciting it must be for all the kids at school, for Donny it's just a regular day. His favorite person lately is George Washington, so it was no surprise what he wanted to wear today. He has been bugging me for awhile to buy/make him a white wig. I finally broke down and decided to make the boy a wig. Before I could start I had to fix my model who was beheaded in a freak karate incident. Barbie's head has been replaced twice with superglue, so I decided to use a different method. Her head is now attached with Gorilla tape, which is also doubling as a choker. Abigail was quite happy about her new necklace.

Once the shower cap was in place, the wig to shape quite quickly. I was so excited because I knew Donny would look adorable. He also requested a three cornered hat like George's. He has studied George's portraits and loves the one with George standing in front of his white horse. I made the hat out of felt, but didn't size it with the wig so when he put them on together it didn't work so well.

Imagine my surprise this morning when Donny told me he didn't want to wear the wig and hat I made. I knew it was coming. He did allow me to take his photo. I forgot to mention that I didn't notice my spoon/sword until I was helping him buckle his seat.

In the end, he went to school wearing the same outfit he wears around the house. I thought he looked so cute, but more like a Union solider than George Washington. I decided to keep that to myself.

Quick Change

I'm not sure if the readers have figured this out or not, but I never know what Donny will be wearing when he walks out the door. He put this outfit on after he made the wishing well.

Abigail Sings

I filmed this moments after dinner tonight. According to Abigail, this is an original piece. I just want to let everyone know that our entire dinner tonight and every night is as loud and crazy as this clip. Big Daddy and Donny are cleaning up milk in the background because "spills happen guys."

Make A Wish

Donny ran out of the house this morning dressed and ready to play. He was very busy running back and forth. At one point he ran into the house, disappeared and ran back outside. Big Daddy informed me that Donny was making a wishing well. He was in the house to get change for his wishing well.
