One Year

January 14th marked the one year anniversary of my blog. What a year it has been. I'm sure now that Abigail and Donny are starting to work as a team, things will only get crazier.

Laptop Blues

I am so glad that two different men on two different occasions, made the trek to my home to fix my laptop. I actually think they were putting it out of it's misery because the other night it just died. The screen went black and that was it, I didn't even have time to say goodbye. I will be without a laptop for about 20 days until a refurbished one arrives. I am hoping the computer genius at the firehouse can save all my photos and documents from the hard drive of the deceased laptop. I am trying not to think about losing my photos, I only have two months photos on the hard drive. I transferred a bulk of them recently.

I am hoping to keep up with posting, but it will be more difficult. Our other computer is in the basement and it is not easy to sneak away. The next twenty days are going to be very rough, my laptop is like my right arm.

Age Appropriate

This morning I put on a top that Big Daddy gave me a few years ago. Not sure if I should wear the top, I walked to the kitchen to ask Big Daddy if he thought it was age appropriate. Donny looked at me and asked, "Hey Mama! When did you get that Hannah Montana shirt?" Question answered!

Donny wanted to wear his special superhero outfit on an outing with Big Daddy.

Kiss

I thought this was about to go in another direction, but Donny surprised me and gave Abigail some love.

Free Sample

I went to the dermatologist today for a freckle check. After the exam, the doctor left the room and I saw free samples on a shelf. I decided to help myself to two samples of my favorite lotion. Next to the lotion was a sample of Eucerin Calming Body Wash, so I took one of those as well. Imagine my excitement when I took my shower tonight, woo-hoo a new bath product. Once in the shower I opened the sample of body wash and poured a generous amount into my hand and start washing. All of the sudden, I started to smell something. What is that smell? Smells like....OH CRAP....smells like my dogs Omega fish oil caplets. I grab the bottle and read calming Omega oil. REALLY?! What is calming about smelling like a fish market. I try to wash off the body wash, but since it is an oil, I'm pretty much stuck with the fish smell. I slathered myself with Origins Ginger Body lotion to try and cover the fish smell, so now I just stink. I guess that's what I get for taking to many samples.

Infection

After 24 hours of breathing treatments, her breathing didn't improve so Big Daddy to Abigail to the ER last night. Her lungs are clear and we need to continue with the treatments, but she has developed an ear infection. I think she will start to improve quite quickly now.

Abigail's Treatment

I think it is only fair that I post a photo of Abigail doing her treatment since her brother has several photos of his treatments.

Superhero

Donny in his superhero outfit or his pj's. Yes, that is his underwear on his head.

New Sweater

Donny modeling the sweater and socks he asked Nanny to get for him.

Yodel-lay-hee-hee

Abigail's breathing treatments went really well last night. The first treatment was timed for 10:30. She was sleeping so nicely, I really didn't want to wake her. I waited until 11:00 and when she still didn't wake on her own, I went to get her. I picked her up, took her to the living room, turned on the incredibly loud machine, held her for the ten minute treatment and then returned her to bed. She never woke. I have to explain her sleep pattern, Big Daddy says that Abigail will wake if a mouse farts. Unlike her brother, who will sleep through anything, Abigail wakes at the slightest noise. I put her back to bed and within ten minutes she was screaming. We were up until about 1:30. She cried almost the entire time until I remembered that she loved the yodeling scene in the Sound Of Music. I think we watched that scene about eight times before she was finally ready to fall asleep.

Every Four Hours

Well, we are back to breathing treatments every four hours around the clock for the next 48 hours. The only difference, this time it's Abigail. She has had a terrible runny nose for the past few days and the fever came last night. She has not slept well in the past 48 hours. While holding her this morning, I noticed that she was having trouble breathing. Big Daddy took her to the doctor. The doctor tried to test her for RSV virus, which is tested by using a sample of the runny nose, he couldn't get a sample from her. She has been full of snot for days, and nothing at the doctor's office. After the office, Big Daddy took Abigail to the hospital for an x-ray of her lungs to check for pneumonia, she got the all clear. So for now, it's oral steroids and breathing treatments. Hopefully, this will work.

Four

Donny had a bit of a problem this morning getting dressed. I tried to put his striped rugby shirt on him and he refused. He told me he couldn't wear the shirt because it was three and he was four. After about ten minutes, I figured out that he couldn't wear the shirt because there was a number three on the front and he is no longer three, he is now four. He is getting entirely too picky. He didn't want to wear a different shirt because the "children at school will call me disgusting!"

Motherboard

A few days ago, I turned my computer on and was informed the computer didn't recognize the power source. I'm not sure why after many months the computer has turned its back on the power cord, but I think it's just rude! I was about to purchase the second new power cord and then decided to google. I found out that my computer, the Inspiron 1501, has internal problems with the motherboard and one day the computer will decide it's no longer friends with the power cord. I find the Dell online chat and am pleased to find out that Dell will replace the motherboard and give me a new power cord. I thought I would have to ship the computer to them, but after speaking to Brian the service tech, who sounded twelve, I found out they make house calls. Yippee!!! My computer will be fixed tomorrow.

Back To School

***Donny surprised me and was ready about a half an hour before we needed to leave. He did everything without giving me a problem. Sometimes that little guy surprises me.

Donny returns to school today after the long Christmas break. I am not looking forward to getting him out the door. He has turned procrastinating into a sport. Yesterday, it took him over two hours to dress, eat his breakfast and do his breathing treatment. Donny changed from cozy pj's to his tank top/shorts last night before bed. He wants to wear them to school today, I don't know how I going to get around that one!

Cabin Fever

If it doesn't stop snowing soon, I think I'm going to go crazy. I can't believe how much snow has fallen in the last 48 hours. I think I am so amazed because Big Daddy and I had no idea it was going to snow. I took Donny out yesterday for a little bit to do the walk. I decided to take him out again today. WOW, what a mistake. The temperature must have been in the single digits with the wind chill. I sent him in after about ten minutes and he sat on the couch while I finished. I am so afraid to see what the daylight will bring.

What?

I spent thirty minutes this morning trying to put this track together. When I finally finished, Donny looked at me and said, "Mama, could I just have a snack." I told him he would get a snack after he played for a few minutes.
