King

Elvis was singing a gospel song on the car radio.  Abigail asked Donny if God was singing and Donny replied, "Almost."

Halloween

We have been so busy that I havent' been blogging enough. I am scrambling to get the Halloween costumes finished. Donny's costume has been cute and I am hoping to spend the day sewing.  I promise to post more often and soon as I get a handle on Halloween.

Grandpa

Grandpa was here for the weekend and it was very busy.  I have failed again didn't take enough pictures, shame on me!!!  The kids were so excited  and love having Grandpas attention.  Donny talked Elvis and cars and Abigail had tea parties.  Dad and I spent a day at a flea market and Big Daddy and Dad were able to make a trip to the city.
Grandpa takes a break from the tea party.

Great Weekend

Our weekend was filled with so many activities you would think I post a lot of pictures, however I didn't take a single picture.  We spent Friday morning at the pumpkin patch with Abigail's class and since Donny didn't have school he was able to join us. Big Daddy picked up Nellie, the dog,  on Friday afternoon and surprised the kids.  Aunt Kee-Kee and family arrived on Saturday for the weekend and on Sunday the extended family joined us for the day.  I am hoping to get some photos from someone who was here and post soon.

Words

I found a worksheet in Donny's homework that had extra work at the bottom. I took a closer look and recognized some lyrics from All Shook Up. I'm not sure the teacher knew what to think.

Apple Crisp

I offered the kids apple crisp for dessert tonight and both declined.  "What kind of kids don't want dessert?"  Abigail pointed to herself and her brother as she said, "These two." Stinker!

Move Over George

Move over George Washington, there is a new man in town. Elvis has entered the building. Donny has become obsessed with Elvis.  I heard the closet doors banging at 5:50 this morning and knew immediately that Donny was picking out an outfit.  I gave him an Elvis book that I picked up at the library yesterday and he made copies of the pictures he liked. He is now carrying a Elvis folder around with him for quick reference, he even took it to school.

This is Donny's interpretation of Elvis's outfit in the photo above.  I made him give me the guitar before the bus arrived.

Siriusly Sinatra

Donny decided to switch it up a bit in the car and listen to Siriusly Sinatra rather than Elvis.  I must say Abigail and I definitely prefer the Sinatra station to Elvis so everyone was happy.  The change in music led to the following conversation:

"Abigail, who is your favorite singer?" Abigail replied, "Justin Bieber and Elvis." To which Donny said, "I like Elvis, Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Nancy Sinatra.  I guess I just like all the pop singers."  Yea Donny, if your eighty.  My son, what can I say?  I love him.

Apple Picking

The kids and I went apple picking yesterday.  I rented a wagon because I figured Abigail would probably get tired of walking at some point. However Donny was the one I pulled around most of the day.  We picked out four really nice pumpkins and a large bag of apples.  Abigail showed me the horse skills she learned while at camp.  Donny was ready to ride and changed his mind at the last minute.  It wasn't until both children were already wearing the riding helmets that I freaked out, I said a prayer that the children who wore the helmets prior to mine were lice free.  I am still saying that prayer while constantly checking the kids heads.

The photo below was the last one of the day.  Do you notice the hill in the background?  We needed to walk down that hill to leave. Donny wanted to pull the wagon.  I explain what would happen as he went down the hill and that I thought it would be best if I took the wagon to the bottom.  He didn't want to listen so I let him take the wagon. BIG MISTAKE!  He started off okay but the momentum took over and before I knew it he quit.  He just let go of the wagon and was laughing so hard he had to stop to bend over.I was yelling his name and  I ran past him to try and catch the wagon, but let's face it I am out of shape.  There was a crowd of people standing at the bottom of the hill watching all of this unfold.  Not one person moved an inch to help me stop the runaway wagon.  The wagon finally crashed into a row of tomato plants.  A teenage boy, who is an employee of the farm, witnessed the entire scene.  Donny saw him and was worried what the boy would say.  I apologized to employee boy and he replied, "I don't care."  Thanks a lot fella, way to help me.

Daddy-O

Big Daddy was going through his old photos and videos and found this one.  I just want to squeeze that little guy.
