Mani's and Pedi's

I took Abigail for her first mani and pedi today.  She was very shy and didn't say one word while the man was working on her.  He tried everything to get her to speak, nothing.  When he finished and walked away, she turned to me and couldn't stop talking.  She loved her purple.  She loved her flowers. She loved her sparkles.  She loved me.  She went on and on.  The woman doing my nails almost fell off her stool she was laughing so hard.  I received lots of hugs and kisses throughout the remainder of the day.  She couldn't wait to show Big Daddy and Donny.  Donny looked at her nails and said, "Abigail! They look fabulous!"

The Pond

We are really starting to have fun on our outings. We spent today at the Ore Pit Pond and the kids had a blast. I returned home with two very tired little ones.

Notice the construction in the background, they were very noisy for about an hour.  I basically forgot they were there when they were quite.

Donny spotted a group of four girls as they were walking toward the pond.  He was ready to make friends and went to the rock to scope out the situation.

Abigail decided she needed a nap.  She was on the blanket for about three minutes before she went back to play.

Everyone cleared out at lunchtime and the kids were so excited to be by themselves...for about ten minutes.

Donny made friends with this brother and sister.  Their father brought them ice cream, so Donny went to the cooler, grabbed himself a snack, threw a towel over his shoulder and started walking to the bridge.  The brother and sister followed and they all sat on the towel and ate together.  Donny was very nervous because the two kids were eating ice cream so close to him.  He would look at me and give me a thumbs up and then scoot back a little.

Good Day Ahead

My day started early enough and then the two munchkins walked into the kitchen looking like this:

Bash Bish Falls

We took a hike to Bash Bish Falls today. The kids spotted a playground on the way home so we stopped to play. I was so impressed with the kids and how well they handled everything, they didn't seem that tired.  Well, I woke up in the car parked in the driveway.  I turned around and both kids were asleep in their car seats.  Luckily, Big Daddy managed to stay awake and get us home safely.  He was in the house making dinner.  Thanks Big Daddy!

On the Road Again

We had so much fun the other day that I decided to take another road trip.  Today we went north to Copake Lake.  I wanted to check out a camp ground for a possible future trip.  The kids were blown away by the thought of a camping community.  They were ready to pack up and move in.  That is until Donny needed to use the restroom.  He thought it smelled funny and decided it was time to leave.  It really wasn't that bad.

As we were driving Donny asked me to pull over so we could take a picture in front of this statue in Hillsdale, N.Y.

When we pulled into Salisbury, Conneticut, Donny said, "This looks like a nice place to park and take a walk."  I asked him to put his hat on because it was so sunny.  I took one look at him and told him I was referring to his sun hat not his winter cap.  You can see who won that battle.

We loved this bench made of ski's.
Donny decided to sit down under this tree and take a rest.  I should have turned the camera slightly to the right because there were about eight tables full of people having a late lunch.

Henry

Abigail first met Henry when we dropped Donny off at school.  He is always so nice to her and answers her many questions. She was so happy to see him when he arrived at the playdate.  "My friend Henry is here."  When the boys were filling their squirt guns in the wheelbarrow, Abigail couldn't 't get close enough to fill her gun.  The boys would squirt her, so she asked Donny to help her.  Henry spoke up and said, "I'll help you Abigail."  After that she followed that poor boy around all day and he was so sweet.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture.  Aren't they adorable?

No Thank You

The Playdate

I promised Donny when school ended I would have a playdate with all his buddies.  The boys were so excited about the day.  One of the boys approached me at school and he was so excited he couldn't get the words out of his mouth.   We started with squirt guns, had a snack in the tent, lunch, rides with Big Daddy and ended with a ride on the fire engine.  Needless to say, many naps that afternoon, myself included.  ***Abigail is smitten with one of Donny's friends.  Just waiting for permission to post the CUTEST photo of the two of them.
