Best Friends

I had arranged a play date with Zoe last week for today. I didn't tell Donny because I wanted to surprise him. I told him we were going somewhere fun. As we were driving he said to me, "Mama, I don't feel so well. My heart hurts, I miss Zoe." I felt so bad for him, but I still didn't tell him we were on our way to see her. He was so excited when he heard him call his name. We had such a great visit and the kids were exhausted when we left. Donny cried a bit as we were driving home because he missed his girl already.

Pony Ride

On Sunday, the kids went for a pony ride. Abigail decided at the last minute she was happy just looking at the pony. Donny decided the moment we arrived that he wasn't riding, but had a change of heart at the last minute. He white knuckled the ride once around the ring and decided he was finished. He did give us a thumbs up, but didn't take his hand off the saddle to do so. Molly didn't want to leave her horse and I'm pretty sure if Tinkerbell would have fit in the minivan, the pony would have come home with us.

Dog Beach

Big Daddy and Donny took Ashley to Dog's Beach today for a swim. Big Daddy let her go, she ran into the water and started swimming. Big Daddy started to get nervous because she continued to swim straight out and all of the sudden she turned around and came back. Donny played with the children on the beach throwing balls to their dogs and Ashley had a nice swim. Everyone should sleep well tonight.

Big Changes

The look of the blog is the first big change and will be evolving. The background I was using was deleted by the company. Apparently, their company became so popular they are now charging for their services. I have been so busy I haven't had time to fix the blog properly, so be prepared for the look to change several times before I find what I like.

The next change, we have decided to relocate to Larchmont for awhile. Donny will be attending a new school several blocks away and Big Daddy's commute has gone from an hour and fifteen minutes to five minutes. We are all trying to adjust and figure out our long term plans. I am hoping to return to a normal routine once Donny starts school again. I also hope to return to blogging every day. I miss my readers. Please be patient with me and stick around. I hope you all have had a wonderful summer.

Hamptons-Vacation Redo

A dear friend of the family rented a house in the Hampton's for the summer. She was very kind and offered the house to us for several days. We were able to relax and have a wonderful time. We were very low key, took many naps, have several cocktails and spent a beautiful day at the beach. Uncle Jim, Donny and I strolled down Jobs Lane, window shopping all the way. On the way into Southampton as we passed the hospital, Donny asked Uncle Jim and I if we were going to stop at the hospital because he coughed. Poor guy thinks going to the hospital is a normal part of vacation.

Larchmont Reservoir

Uncle Jim took Donny and Molly to the reservoir today for a nature walk. Donny came home very tired and needed a nap. Uncle Jim is welcome to take Donny for a walk every day!

Car Conversation

Donny said to me, "Mama, I'm very sad that I won't see Grandma again." I told him I was very sad also. He thought for a moment and then said,"You know what? Grandma WILL be able to come back because she is a fairy and she is sitting on a cloud and she has wings so she fly to see me." I asked him if that made him feel better and he said that it did.
