Mr. President

Cousin Molly is here for a few days for a visit. Last night while I was preparing dinner, the kids were playing and I overheard Donny say, "Come on Michelle we are going to be late to the Pentagon." "Okay, I'm coming Barack!" Donny and Molly were running from room to room. All while Donny was giving Molly a rundown of the important military meetings he was to attend. Meanwhile, Abigail came floating in wearing her Cinderella dress singing into her makeshift microphone (the floor lamp from her dollhouse), stopped at my feet and asked where the hexagon was because she was late.

Don't Touch

I made popcorn for an afternoon snack today. Abigail put her bowl down, looked at Donny and said, "DO NOT TOUCH! It has cows milk in it!" It so didn't have cows milk. Big Daddy and I were very amused and impressed with her conniving way.

Random Photos

Big Daddy finally found my micro-disk so I could upload my phone photos. Here are many random photos. Most of them are of Abigail and her wonderful outfits.

WOW

Big Daddy and I took the kids out to dinner last night. They were perfect little angels. On the ride home I told them how proud I was and thanked them for such a wonderful evening. Donny replied, "Mama, Abigail and I should say thank you to you for taking us to dinner." He left me speechless.

Menu

Donny did not have much of an appetite Sunday evening. I offered to make him one of his favorites and asked if he would rather have guacamole or pasta. He replied, "Mama, may I order off the menu? I would like pancakes."

Do Over

Ever have one of those days that you just want to do over? Today was one of those days for me. It started at 1:30 in the morning when Donny started screaming that his ear hurt. Big Daddy went to Abigail's room since she was now awake and crying and I held the crying boy. He wanted me to put him in the shower and rinse his ear out. I gave him some pain killer instead. Once he was asleep I realized he has never complained of ear pain before and he has had many ear infections. A trip to the doctor confirmed he did have an infection.

I promised Donny he could have a present when he returned from the doctor. Aunt Kee-Kee gave the kids gifts for Valentine's Day, but I didn't have time to give them to the kids until today.

Abigail was so happy to receive her crown and earrings. I told everyone to stay back and let me open her earrings because they are very fragile. I had those earrings in my hand for less than a minute and broke one. I was sick to my stomach. She was so happy and wanted to wear them, I ended up fixing it and she was able to wear them. I was so worried about the crown because I was afraid the kids were going to break it before the day was over. Well, I stepped on it and broke a small piece off. Abigail hasn't noticed yet and I'm afraid she will have a meltdown when she does. (I'm very sorry Aunt Kee-Kee.)

Shortly after I stepped on the crown, I received a text that sent me to instant tears. Many years ago when I was lonely a cat showed up on my doorstep one day. She became my pet and I named her Puddy. She was a very good and loving companion and she loved me as much as I loved her. I had to leave her and I always felt very guilty and sad that I couldn't bring her with me. She died today and I still love her and miss her very much.

Big Daddy called me when he received my text. He started to tell me there was something wrong with his truck. He held the phone up and told me to listen. All I could hear was a very loud noise. Big Daddy then informed me that the part that was making the noise just fell off the truck and he had to go. All I could think was, "Of course it fell off. That's just the kind of day we are having. I want a do over!"

Flew or Flu?

****I should know better than to talk about how well things are going. I thought Donny might be able to handle a small glass of rice milk, he is NOT ready.

Donny started running a fever Wednesday evening which lasted for a few days. He called me into his room around 10:30 Friday night where I found him sleeping in the contents of his stomach. I took him to the bathroom to put him in the shower. I told him if he felt sick to go over to the toilet. He asked what was wrong with him and I informed him he might have the flu. He looked scared and then said, "I don't want to fly." We have been very lucky in this house. Donny has never had the flu or even a stomach virus.

Abigail started a fever Friday night, but seems to have made it through without any stomach problems. They have both started the day fever free and seem to be doing well. Fingers crossed!

Quote of the Day

I know it is a bit early to already have a Quote of the Day, but I'm not sure if anything will top: "Mama, I think I have picked all the boogers there are to pick. I don't have any left." All I could say was, thank heavens and that's gross.

File A Complaint

Our little girl is really pushing the limit with her early morning complaints. Two nights ago, she was mad because she doesn't have a crown to go with her Cinderella dress. She went on and on, I finally had to go into her room and negotiate a phone call to her Aunt Kee-Kee. She agreed and we were both able to sleep after a twenty minute conversation.

The next day I gave her a cup of milk in a small pink cup. She wanted the snowman cup that she saw in the cupboard. I told her not know and we would discuss it later. Well, if I had known that later was 2:43 in the morning she would have been drinking milk out of the snowman cup. "MOMMY YOU'RE A POOPY HEAD! I WANT THE SNOWMAN CUP RIGHT NOW!" She really needs to file her complaints before she goes to bed.

Cha-Ching

The penny was released into the wild last night. There was only one problem. When I told Abigail the penny was out of her tummy, she asked for another one. I am going to watch that child like a hawk.

I Ate It

Abigail just walked into the kitchen and said, "Mommy, I ate a coin." I quizzed her about said coin and she stood firm with her answers. "I ate it. It was a penny. Can you get it out?" I told her I couldn't get it out, but that it would come out when she goes potty. She hung her head and said, "Oh no." That's right little girl, if you think you have trouble now, just wait until Abe comes calling!

Stop Singing

During the car ride home from school today, I was clowning around with Donny. I was singing very out of tune and very loud. I told Donny that I thought I should be a professional singing. He said, "Sing for the people, but NOT your family!" Well said son.

No Nap Today

After lunch I took the kids out to play while I shoveled, which meant no nap for Abigail. A few hours later I found Abigail in her room. She was standing on a box going through her pajama drawer. I asked her what she was doing and she told me she was going to her crib. She said she was tired and wanted to go to sleep. Then she put her pajamas up to her nose. "Abigail, what are you doing?" Can you believe she said, "Smells fresh."
