Nicole

Nicole has arrived! The sound of heavy rain woke me this morning at 6:00. I received a call from the lady down the street yesterday telling me of her evacuation plans. I thought she might be overreacting, but she was correct about the amount and time of rain. I hope she is wrong about the winds and power. If this keeps up all day, we're going to need an ark.

Love

Donny and I had a long talk last night about the events at school. I was relived to find out that his heart still belongs to his true love Zoe. He realized the new girl is not like Zoe at all, so he had to break apart. I'm just glad it wasn't the helmet.

Oh No

I asked Donny if he played with his girl today. He said, "Nope. We broke apart. That means we're not together anymore." "What happened?" "NOTHING!" I sure hope it wasn't the helmet.

Is He Special?

Donny insisted on wearing a skateboard helmet and sunglasses to school today. I convinced him to leave the "gun" or drawer separator at home. When he walked into his classroom, he put his backpack in his cubby and circled his new love interest with all the pride of lion in the jungle. She took one look at him, then looked at me with a mixture of disgust and pity and said, "Why does he need to wear a helmet." Feeling sad for my little man who couldn't feel any cooler at the moment, I replied, "That's his super cool helmet. Have a great day at school cool guy!" I quickly left and said a little prayer for my boy.

Naughty and Nice

I want to know how a boy who takes an entire roll of toliet paper and wraps it through the house then dumps an entire bottle of shampoo in the toliet, can walk into his Tae Kwon Do class and be a perfect student.

My Family

Yesterday, Big Daddy, Abigail and I picked Donny up from school in the fire engine. We drove past the school twice trying to find a place to park. Donny saw us drive by and told the teacher that his family drove past in the fire engine. The teacher told him he was wrong and that it was just the firemen. When I walked up to the door, I heard him say, "I told you that was my family!"

Tae Kwon-Do

I asked Donny to stand by the stairs so I could take his picture. He became a fashion model and changed his pose several times. I soon realized he had a favorite pose, facial expression and stance. He did the same pose for the first day of school.

Question of the Day

"Mama, when you were at the hospital and the doctor gave me to you, why didn't you name me Bruce Wayne?"

Chilly

Big Daddy was chilly last night, so he built a fire for us. The kids ate their dinner next to the fire and we all had a really good time. I just hope they don't think this is going to happen every night.

Worst School Ever

Well, the first day of school was quite crazy. When we walked in the door for drop off, Donny went one way and Abigail the other while Big Daddy and I tried to find the teacher among all the crying children. Donny was playing with the boys who weren't crying and Abigail sat down at a table to play. I was finally able to speak to someone and I pulled Donny over to put a face to his name...MILK ALLERGY!!!!
We said our goodbyes, gave kisses and turned to see our Abigail happy as could be. When she realized we were leaving Donny she started crying and saying, "My buddy, my buddy!" It took her awhile and she was over the drama.

We were so excited to see how Donny's day went. The first thing he said to me was, "That is the worst school ever!" Not what you want to hear from your child. After many questions and a sit down with Aunt Kee-Kee it was determined that the teacher "lied" to Donny when she told him he could play with the submarine later but didn't follow through. We are hoping for a better day tomorrow.

Bid Daddy bought Abigail a lolly at the corner store to help her feel better.

First Day Of School

Tomorrow is Donny's first day of school. He is most looking forward to "meeting the other children." He picked out his clothes before he went to bed and I am sure that he will dress before he leaves his room in the morning.

Shaving

I caught Donny in the bathroom yesterday making a "shaving mix to put on his mouth and shave it off." There was a bowl in the sink filled with a bit of each of his shampoos. (He likes to mix them when I wash his hair, he calls it fruit salad.) Later we were discussing the incident and I asked him if he knew Mommy would be mad for making the mess in the sink. He told me that the little man in his head told him I would be mad and that he was sorry. I said maybe next time he should listen to the little man so he didn't get into trouble. About a minute went by and then, "Mama, that's not what happened. The little man in my head lied to me. He told me you wouldn't be mad." I suggested he have a talk with the little man and instruct him not to lie anymore because Donny would be the one in trouble not the little man. He met with the little man last night and I am hoping they came to an agreement.
