Mrs. Fizzbone

"Donny, how did you and Mrs. Fizzbone meet?" "Oh Mama, we met at a park. She was there and just walked up to me and put a ring on my finger. The ring glows in the dark! I married her at the park." "Donny, that is the best story I think I've ever heard." "Yep!"

Tsunami Warning

A massive earthquake registering 8.8 hit Chile today. The Pacific Tsunami Waring Center has issued a tsunami warning for the entire Pacific region. The earliest a tsunami will hit is 4:05 p.m. I have read that residents and tourist are evacuating and heading to higher ground. I'm sure the Weather Channel will be monitoring the Hawaiian coast around 4:00. Let's hope everyone listened to the warning.

Head Wear

I know this is a bit indulgent, but I had to post all of these photos. I was folding laundry and Abigail left the room for a moment and returned wearing Donny's hat. I wanted just one good photo, but ended up with several. Abigail's vocabulary is increasing everyday. Tonight as I was carrying her off to bed, she said, "Nite nite, nonny." Then she blew him a kiss.

Don't Do That!

As I was coming out of the post office today, I noticed a baby about Abigail's age crying in her car seat. She was in the front seat of a pick-up. I realized she was crying because she was alone. Not only was she alone, but the truck was running as well. I stood there and waited because I didn't want to leave her alone. About a minute later, a man came running out of the post office and I looked him in the eye and pointed to him. He immediately said he was sorry. I said, "Don't do that! Don't leave your baby in the truck! Someone could have taken her AND your truck was running! DON'T DO THAT!" He continued to repeat himself, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." I pointed to him one last time and said, "Don't do that again." He shook his head and got into his truck. What are people thinking?

Train Ride

I had to get the kids out of the house today, so I decided to take them for a train ride. We caught the train at the station in town and rode to the end of the line and back again. They had such a good time. Abigail would point and say, "Look!" Donny made sure the man punching tickets got a good look at the cut on his finger. Donny made us stand on the platform and wave to everyone on the train as it passed.

Headlines

I am a self proclaimed news junkie or at least I was until Donny was about two. I always joke there should be a news crawl at the bottom of Noggin. I really miss being up to date on the events of the world, but I have decided I no longer care that I rarely get to watch the news. Please explain to me the ridiculous hype over the Tiger Woods "press conference" yesterday. I cannot understand why this was the lead story, when the day before a man set fire to his house, left an incredible suicide note on the Internet and then flew a plane into an IRS building and killed innocent people because he was a right wing fanatic. I'm so confused!!!! Is Tiger Woods really that important to our daily lives or is society so obsessed with "celebrity" figures that we bury our heads in the sand when real issues need to be addressed?

The Eyes Have It

Donny returned to the doctor yesterday to have his ears checked. Unfortunately, our regular doctor is off on Wednesdays, so we had to see another doctor in the practice. Donny's ears are just about back to normal. The doctor gave Abigail a once over while we were there. We noticed that her eyes were a bit red that morning. The doctor confirmed that her eyes were infected and sent a prescription to the pharmacy. By the time we got home, her eyes were a mess. The doctor never mentioned Pink Eye, just said they were infected. I decided to Google Pink Eye symptoms. Am I right in assuming that any eye infection is referred to as Pink Eye? By the way, during Donny's first doctors visit last week, doctor gave us a bottle of eye drops. What a surprise I had when I picked up Abigail's prescription! Same eye drops, but they cost me $40.00!

Bacon Sandwich

I asked Donny if he would like a bacon sandwich for lunch. He replied, "I'd be delighted!"

I would like to thank Kelly for this reference to Donny's photo:

Little Miss S

After looking at the photo of Donny and Zoe again, my first thought was of this photo of Edie Sedwick.

Hello Friend

Donny's friend Zoe came over today and I would have paid good money to have a camera when she walked in the door. Donny was there to greet her wearing a navy turtle neck and Abigail's black tights. He looked like he was waiting for Liza Minnelli to arrive so they could tap dance their way to Broadway.

Goodnight

*****I will never again post about the children falling asleep early. Last night was hell. Abigail woke up every two hours, Donny was up from 2:00 until around 3:00 a.m., he entered my room at 5:00 to announce he needed a shower to wash the pee-pee away. I was able to get him into my bed after his shower, but he didn't sleep. Then around 6:15 the door flew open and Ashley paced around the room panting because she wanted to go outside. It's going to be a very long day. I have declared a state of emergency and there is a mandatory nap time in effect for this afternoon.
Donny just fell asleep on the couch and Abigail has been asleep for twenty minutes. Aunt Karen and family, PLEASSSSSSSSE come back!!!!

God Told Me

Donny pretends straws are pipe for construction sites when he plays with his cars. Today he asked me to cut the "pipes" into small pieces. I told him I didn't think it was a good idea because Abigail could choke on them, to which he replied, "Mama, God told me that he would make me an angel if you didn't cut up my pipes." Now what is a mother to do? He's threatening me with God!

Just Irritated

Today will be known as the day that nothing worked properly. I have been trying to log on to Facebook since 6:00 this morning and apparently my "account is temporarily unavailable due to site maintenance." Well, it has been over twelve hours and I still can't log on. The winter weather is really starting to get to me and one look at my blog layout today just about sent me over the edge. I decided to change the background to make things a bit brighter. Well, that didn't go very well. I spent an hour trying to do something that usually takes me a few minutes. Maybe the storm is impacting the Internet, but that shouldn't be a problem here. The snow didn't really start to fall until around 4:00. I think we only have a little over an inch at this point.

Ready Or Not

Whether or not we are ready, the snow has started to fall. Big Daddy will be traveling over the mountain today to attend a codes course or as he and Donny call it, fireman school. We'll see how soon he returns considering almost everything in the tri-state area has been cancelled today. The weather man used the word blizzard, although I'm not sure if we are included in that report, still 10-16 inches is quite a bit of snow. It's going to be a long day. Would someone please win the lottery so we can all put our toes in the sand!

My Little Man

I took this photo shortly after we returned from the doctor yesterday. Donny has an ear infection in both ears and his ears seem to be draining through his eyes. He is our little trooper.

A Girl

Since my computer problems, Donny has decided he wants to be a girl. He told me the children at school were being mean to him and calling him names. I asked what they called him and he replied, "A boy and I want to be a girl." I had to explain to him that they weren't being mean. He wants to be a girl so that he can have a brother. You see, if he is a girl that makes Abigail a boy and he now has a brother.

Where Did She Go?

The other day I was in the kitchen, Abigail was taking a nap and Donny was in the living room. All of the sudden, Donny came running into the kitchen and said, "Where did the little girl go? Where did she go? I want to play with her. Was that Abigail?" He was looking around trying to find something. All I could think was not again. I thought we got rid of all the people only Donny sees. He hasn't mentioned the soldiers outside his window or the man who walks up and down the hall or the lady who was really mad and would walk through the sliding glass door. I think she was pissed because we brought her home from Florida.

Rough Nap

Abigail's hair had a life of it's own after her nap.

I'm Back

Hello all! I received my new computer today, but am having a hard time working out the kinks. So, please be patient with me. I should be posting very soon. Thanks for sticking with me.
